To all my sublunary students…

Hello earth-based beings. As you’re well aware, we began our study of poetry this week.

We started with the following PPT (Feb 27 – Poetry) which introduced the unit and the idea of TPSFASTT. From there, we began our study of the poem “the author to her book“, by Anne Bradstreet. We then moved on to the lovely poem by John Donne A valediction: forbidding mourning” which we then picked apart. Finally, at the end of the day today, you were assigned the poem “Ode on the death of a favorite cat” by Thomas Gray. Complete a TPSFASTT for the poem, and illustrate each stanza.

Side Note: For those of you interested in the John Donne trivia that I mentioned in class, he first used the “for whom the bell tolls” and “no man is an island” lines in his “Meditation 17”
